Chinese Culture Reader

　　《中国文化读本》由中国教育部课程教材研究所对外汉语课程教材研究开发中心编写，适用于中级汉语水平的汉语学习者。该书以介绍中国的历史文明和当代丰富多彩的文化生活为主，共八章，分别是：中国概览、汉语和汉字、风俗习惯、风景名胜、科学和技术、传统艺术、中国文学、中外文化交流。每一章包含3-5节，每一节基本由知识简介、小资料、读一读和练习四部分组成。知识点、小资料和阅读短文互相关联，相映成趣，练习注重互动性。版式新颖，视角独特，插图美观，印刷精美。

　　This Chinese Culture Reader has been written by writers from the Chinese as a Foreign Language Editorial Department, Curriculum and Teaching Materials Research Institute of the Ministry of Education, in the hope of meeting the needs of intermediate Chinese learners. The book provides an overview of Chinese historical civilization and culture as well as the lively daily life of contemporary China. It has eight chapters: an overview of China; the Chinese language and characters; folklore; scenic spots and historical sites; science and technology; traditional arts; literature; and international cultural exchanges. Each chapter contains three to five sections. Each section is composed of four elements, which include background knowledge, references, reading comprehension and exercises. The reading passages, cultural tips and references are well connected. We have also made the exercises interactive. The content is logically laid out and offers an interesting perspective. The illustrations are lively, attractive and beautifully printed.
